A mostly positive trading day has just ended

Before tomorrow's session: markets closed higher today; Nasdaq ended the session at 12,166 after a 2% gain. Dow Jones closed the day at 34,030, having gained 1.14%.

US markets are set to open tomorrow in around 15 hours. In the meantime, European markets closed higher today whilst CAC added 1.13% to trade at 7,480.83. Asia-Pacific markets ended a mixed session today whilst KOSPI Composite Index is up by 0.43%, hitting 2,561.66.

Uptick coincides with some positive signs published earlier as United States Crude Oil Inventories beat analyst expectations of -583,000 and the previous reading of -3.74 million with new data of 597,000.

On a negative note, the market received some disappointing news as following a previous reading of 0%, Producer Price Index in United States released today at 12:30 UTC fell short of the 0.1% figure expected by analysts with an actual reading of -0.5%. Data from United States concerning Initial Jobless Claims was released today at 12:30 UTC. Newly published figures emphasized continued decline from last month's figure of 228,000 to 239,000 this month.

Also worthy of note, tomorrow at 12:30 UTC data for United States Core Retail Sales will be released, with an expected decline to -0.3% from the preceding figure of -0.1%.

Furthermore, the market is looking at United States Retail Sales figure is projected at -0.4%. It previously stood at -0.4%; data will be released tomorrow at 12:30 UTC.

While most assets did well today, some did better than others as SPDR S&P Biotech ETF trades at $79.43 having gained 4.44%. ARK Innovation ETF (up 4%) is also performing well.

Today's bullishness contained stragglers as noticeable risk-on sentiment wasn't enough to prevent iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF giving up 1 cents, or 0.04%, before ending the session at $25.35.
