Amid the market gloom, United States Building Permits (May) released yesterday at 12:30 UTC with a figure of 1.49 million, while the previous figure was 1.15 million. Producer Price Index in Germany fell short of market expectations (-0.7%) with a reading of -1.4%, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 0.3%. Data for United States Housing Starts published yesterday at 12:30 UTC came out at 21.7%, beating projections of -0.8% and showing improvement over the preceding figure of -2.9%.
In the meantime, negative performances are seen in other pairs, GBP/NZD is down 75 pips from the beginning of the session and now trades around 2.061. GBP/CAD decreases 0.4% to trade around 1.6819. After ending yesterday's session at 1.2765, GBP/USD lost 45 pips and is trading around 1.2719.
