- Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF was the biggest decliner yesterday after giving up 0.96% IShares 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (down 0.352%), iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) also underperformed yesterday.
- Asia-Pacific markets are trending positively as ASX 200 added 1.23% to trade at 7,308.
Yesterday's market activity meant that markets did not have a clear cut direction — Dow Jones ended the session at 33,600 after a 0.3% gain. S&P 500 closed at 4,109 after a flat day.
US markets are now currently closed and set to reopen today; meanwhile, Asia-Pacific markets are up as ASX 200 surges by 1.23%, reaching 7,308. Upbeat European markets ended yesterday higher as FTSE moves up to 7,741.56 (up 1.03%).
Data to be released today might clear up some of the market fog as United States Producer Price Index is projected to outperform its last figure with 0.1%. It previously stood at -0.1%; data will be released Thursday. United States Crude Oil Inventories is projected to outperform its last figure with -1.3 million. It previously stood at -3.74 million; data will be released tomorrow at 14:30 UTC. United States Consumer Price Index is expected tomorrow at 12:30 UTC.
Despite lacklustre price action, some assets lagged behind their peers as Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF lost 0.96% yesterday before closing at $46.48. IShares 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (down 0.352%), iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) also underperformed yesterday.
