After ending the previous trading day at 0.6095, NZD/USD went up to 0.614 only to drop back; still positive overall today, now trading at 0.6126.
This move comes while some more positive signs for the Kiwi are out as highly important Initial Jobless Claims data from United States beat analyst expectations of 235,000 with a reading of 261,000.
At the same time, United States U.S. Baker Hughes Oil Rig Count released today at 17:00 UTC with a figure of 556, while the previous figure was 555. United States U.S. Baker Hughes Total Rig Count released today at 17:00 UTC with a figure of 695, while the previous figure was 696.
Elsewhere, other currency pairs are also gaining ground as having closed the previous session at 0.8989, USD/CHF is up 0.45% today to currently trade at around 0.9029.
Meanwhile, EUR/NZD closed at 1.7543 (down 0.83%). EUR/AUD is down 102 pips from the beginning of the session and now trades around 1.5953.
The currency pair has been trending lower for about 30 days. Having set a peak of 0.65 around 4 months ago, the New-Zealand Dollar is now trading 6.21% below this level.
