Bullish US market followed by European bearishness

• Top laggard iShares MBS ETF gave up 50 cents, or 0.53% yesterday Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF (down 0.477%), iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) also underperformed yesterday.
• European markets are down as DAX is currently down 0.74% and trading around 15,869.

Before today's session: leading equity indices in the US rose as Nasdaq closed the day at 13,631, having gained 0.95%. S&P 500 ended the session at 4,382 after a 0.37% gain.

Trading in the US will continue today in around 2 hours time, meanwhile European markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session. Asia-Pacific markets were down today as ASX 200 is down by 1.34%, reaching 7,099.2

The earnings season is coming to an end and Carmax Inc and Accenture plc Class A (Ireland) have release their reports.

On a negative note, the market received some disappointing news as data from United States concerning Crude Oil Inventories was released yesterday at 15:00 UTC. Newly published figures emphasized continued decline from last month's figure of 7.92 million to -3.83 million this month. New United States Initial Jobless Claims data fell short of the 260,000 projected by analysts with a reading of 264,000 while failing to improve upon the previous reading from last month (264,000).

Today's rise takes place amid mixed market indicators — United States Existing Home Sales (May) released yesterday at 14:00 UTC with a figure of 4.3 million, while the previous figure was 4.29 million.

Furthermore, the market is looking at United States Services PMI is expected today at 13:45 UTC.
