Markets have no obvious direction as trading reaches middle of session

Vanguard Total International Bond ETF dips 0.42% by midday IShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) has also underperformed today.
European markets are dropping as FTSE is currently down 0.89% and trading around 7,491.62.

The trading session is well on its way, markets are mixed with Nasdaq goes up 0.5%, trading at 13,570. Dow Jones slipping 0.11% and closing at 33,900.

European markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session. Asia-Pacific markets are currently mixed so far this session.

The earnings season is coming to an end and Accenture plc Class A (Ireland) and FactSet Research Systems Inc. have release their reports.

Ambiguous macro data is influencing the market as Crude Oil Inventories in United States fell short of market expectations (1.87 million) with a reading of -3.83 million, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 7.92 million. United States Existing Home Sales (May) came out at 4.3 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 4.25 million. New United States Initial Jobless Claims data fell short of the 260,000 projected by analysts with a reading of 264,000 while failing to improve upon the previous reading from last month (264,000).

Furthermore, the market is looking at United States Services PMI is expected tomorrow at 13:45 UTC.

While markets are generally sideways so far today, these assets are pulling ahead as ETFMG Sit Ultra Short ETF up 0.6% trading at $48.51.

Despite lacklustre price action, some assets are lagging behind their peers as Vanguard Total International Bond ETF seems to be down today, losing 0.42% of its value. IShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) has also underperformed today.
