Newly published figures emphasized continued decline from last month's figure of 0.2% to -0.3% this month.

Data to be released today might clear up some of the market fog as today at 12:30 UTC data for United States Retail Sales will be released, with an expected decline to -0.1% from the preceding figure of 0.4%. United States Core Retail Sales projected to come out at 0.1% — worse than previous data of 0.4%; data will be released today at 12:30 UTC. United States Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index (Jun) scheduled to come out today at 12:30 UTC.

While markets were generally sideways yesterday, these assets pulled ahead as Vanguard Tax-Exempt Bond ETF up 0.26% trading at $50.15.
