Pound-Yen set for strong finish this afternoon; up 0.43% to 167.59 with 4 hours before close

Tentatively higher from an earlier low of 166.52, GBP/JPY is up to 167.59 today, adding 71 pips, or 0.43%, to Friday's closing price of 166.87.

Other currencies are also rising as EUR/JPY jumps 0.62% to trade around 148.31. EUR/CAD climbs 0.56% to trade around 1.4956. EUR/USD is up 0.49%.

Also worthy of note, United Kingdom CBI Industrial Trends Orders (Apr) scheduled to come out tomorrow at 10:00 UTC. United Kingdom BoE MPC Member Broadbent speech is scheduled for tomorrow at 09:00 UTC.

The currency pair has been trending positively for about 2 months. As things stand, Pound-Yen is 15.4% away from a significant low of 144.6 first set 6 months ago.
