Market's down-tick coincides with some negative macro data published earlier as Initial Jobless Claims in United States fell short of market expectations (195,000) with a reading of 211,000, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 190,000. United States Crude Oil Inventories published Wednesday came out at -1.69 million, falling short of the 395,000 projections and continuing its decline from the previous 1.17 million figure.
Amid the market gloom, United States JOLTs Job Openings (Jan) came out at 10.82 million, while a consensus of analysts was expecting 10.5 million.
With markets struggling for positive sentiment, upcoming macro data could potentially attract buyers in the market as as things stand, upcoming United States Non Farm Payrolls data is projected to fall short of market expectations with newly published data of 205,000, following on from the preceding figure of 517,000. New data is set to be published today at 13:30 UTC.
Furthermore, United States Unemployment Rate figure is projected at 3.4. It previously stood at 3.4; data will be released today at 13:30 UTC.
While markets are generally down so far today, some assets outperformed such as Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF gained 0.66% to reach $45.55. IShares 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (up 0.323%) is also performing well.
