- FTSE rallies to 7,607.28 (up 1.56%).
Ahead of tomorrow's session: markets were up Friday; Dow Jones closed the day at 33,763, having gained 2.12%. S&P 500 gained 1.45% and closed at 4,282.37.
Trading in the US will continue tomorrow in around 18 hours time, meanwhile European markets closed higher Friday whilst FTSE is up by 1.56%, hitting 7,607.28. Upbeat Asia-Pacific markets ended Friday higher as KOSPI Composite Index increases by 1.25%, reaching 2,601.36.
3Rd quarter earnings season is mostly over, with Aurora Cannabis Inc. and Signature Bank releasing their earnings reports just this week.
Uptick coincides with some positive signs published earlier as United States Non Farm Payrolls improved upon its previous reading of 294,000 with a new data release of 339,000.
On a negative note, the market received some disappointing news as Average Hourly Earnings in United States fell short of market expectations (0.4%) with a reading of 0.3%, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 0.4%. Unemployment Rate in United States fell short of market expectations (3.5) with a reading of 3.7, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 3.4.
Also worthy of note, United States ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI (May) is scheduled for tomorrow at 14:00 UTC. United States Services PMI figure is projected at 55.1. It previously stood at 55.1; data will be released tomorrow at 13:45 UTC. United States EIA Short-Term Energy Outlook scheduled to come out Tuesday.
Friday's bullishness contained stragglers as Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF closed at $45.89 having dropped 0.63%. IShares 1-3 Year Treasury Bond ETF (down 0.282%), iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) also underperformed Friday.
