Ahead of today's session: markets closed higher yesterday, as S&P 500 closed the day at 4,135.35, having gained 1.96%. Dow Jones ended the session at 33,826 after a 1.57% gain.
US markets are currently closed but will resume today in around 8 hours time. Asia-Pacific session in progress; markets are rising as Nikkei is up by 0.82%, hitting 28,700. European markets ended a mixed session yesterday whilst FTSE is down by 0.27%, draws back to 7,831.58
Banco de Chile and DraftKings Inc. due to release their earnings reports within the following week.
Uptick coincides with some positive signs published earlier as United States Initial Jobless Claims improved upon its previous reading of 246,000 with a new data release of 230,000.
On a negative note, the market received some disappointing news as United States Pending Home Sales published yesterday at 14:00 UTC came out at -5.2%, falling short of the 0.5% projections and continuing its decline from the previous 0.8% figure. United States GDP published yesterday at 12:30 UTC came out at 1.1, falling short of the two projections and continuing its decline from the previous 2.6 figure.
Also worthy of note, United States Core PCE Price Index (MoM) (Mar) scheduled to come out today at 12:30 UTC.
While most assets did well yesterday, some did better than others as Communication Services Select Sector SPDR Fund trades at $59.39 having gained 5.81%. IShares MSCI USA Quality Factor ETF (up 2.36%) is also performing well.
