US market closed higher yesterday, European markets are down

• Top laggard iShares MBS ETF gave up 50 cents, or 0.53% yesterday Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities ETF (down 0.477%), iShares Trust – iShares iBonds Dec 2021 Term Treasury ETF (down 0.039%) also underperformed yesterday.
• European markets are dropping as DAX stumbles to 15,748 (down 1.5%).

A refresher of where yesterday ended before today starts: markets closed higher yesterday; Nasdaq gained 0.95% and closed at 13,631. S&P 500 ended the session at 4,382 after a 0.37% gain.

US markets are now currently closed and set to reopen today; meanwhile, European markets have struggled to gain ground and are now trading lower midway through the session. Asia-Pacific markets were down today as ASX 200 drops to 7,099.2 (down 1.34%).

The earnings season is coming to an end and Carmax Inc and Accenture plc Class A (Ireland) have release their reports.

On a negative note, the market received some disappointing news as Crude Oil Inventories in United States fell short of market expectations (329,000) with a reading of -3.83 million, continuing the decline from the previous figure of 7.92 million. United States Initial Jobless Claims came out at 264,000, marking no change from preceding figure.

Today's rise takes place amid mixed market indicators — United States Existing Home Sales (May) released yesterday at 14:00 UTC with a figure of 4.3 million, while the previous figure was 4.29 million.

Elsewhere, United States Services PMI figure is projected at 54. It previously stood at 54.9; data will be released today at 13:45 UTC.
